For more than 140 years, Jewish Family Services of the Baron de Hirsch Institute, also known as JFS, has helped families to stay strong and connected. JFS offers intervention and prevention services to children, individuals, families, schools and communities with a view to supporting and enhancing personal and family health and growth. As a recognized leader in the field of social services and mental health, we are committed to providing specialized, high quality services, to building professional and community partnerships and to sharing our expertise and resources. We offer programs that are sensitive to cultural and language needs that span the entire family lifecycle. We maintain absolute confidentiality.

Our professionals bring extensive training, experience and sensitivity to their work. They provide the highest quality of care and support to the individuals and families they serve. Our diverse team includes clinical social workers, psychologists, mental health professionals, family life educators, occupational and speech therapists as well as many other specialists. More than 300 dedicated volunteers enhance the work of the agency's staff.

We help more than 10,000 people every year - people of all ages and income. Whether you are coping with loss or change, family breakdown or physical or mental illness, caring for a troubled child or struggling to make ends meet, we have a program or service to help you.
