Parlour Meetings
JFS parlour meetings provide the opportunity for parents to get together in the comfort and privacy of their own home to discuss their concerns about parenting and to support one another in the challenge of raising children.
The goal of these groups, which are parent-driven and professionally facilitated, is to build strong parent networks to support and teach, tear down stereotypes and get parents to re-examine their values, standards and expectations. Groups discuss common parenting issues such as parenting style, strategies to handle stress and conflict, setting limits and discipline. JFS is running more than 50 parlour-meeting groups throughout the Island of Montreal, representing close to 500 parents who meet each month.
